RURAL HEALTH-CARE WORK GROUP

In January 2011, the House Speaker created the Rural Health-Care Work Group. Composed of five delegates, the Work Group will consider the accessibility of health care in Maryland's rural areas. It will examine matters relating to physician shortages; partnering with local universities and medical schools; physician reimbursement rate strategies; emergency room use; and the role of statewide emergency medical system in rural ares.
