Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1976; U.S. District Court for Maryland Bar, 1977; U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit Bar, 1981; U.S. Supreme Court Bar, 1983. Member, American Bar Association; Maryland State Bar Association; Carroll County Bar Association (past president & secretary). Member, Maryland Association for Justice (formerly Maryland Trial Lawyers Association); Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, 1973-. Member, Historical Society of Carroll County, 1979- (vice-president, 1981); Smithsonian Institution, 1990-; National Aquarium; Baltimore Museum of Art; Walters Art Museum; Carroll County Chamber of Commerce; Westminster Elks.
