Captain, U.S. Naval Reserve, and Senior Reserve Military Judge, U.S. Navy, 1995-96. Judge, U.S. Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals, 1996-2000, 2003-07. Served over 37 years in selected reserve. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1973. Member, Maryland State Bar Association (board of governors, 1985-86, 1990-92); Prince George's County Bar Association, 1973- (president, 1989-90); Maryland Association of Judges of the Orphans' Court (president, 1981-85). Member, Rotary Club of Laurel, 1974- (president, 1980-81). President, Laurel Unit, American Cancer Society, 1978-80; Oasis Youth Services Bureau, 1979-80. Board of Directors, St. Vincent Palotti High School, 1988-95; Laurel Regional Hospital, 1989-98 (chair, 1990-92).
