Member, Maryland State Bar Association (chair, section on economics of law, 1976-78; member, board of governors, 1979-80; chair, judicial appointments committee, 1981-83; member, ethics committee); Baltimore County Bar Association (executive council, 1988-; president, 1995-96). Board member, Hannah More Center School, 1988. Law Day Award, Baltimore County Bar Association, 2005. Man for All Seasons, St. Thomas More Society of Maryland, 2006.
