Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1961. Served in U.S. Air Force in Korea and Japan. Member, Maryland State Bar Association (criminal law & practice section council, 1990-, past chair; alternative dispute resolution section council, 2003-04; judicial administration section, past chair). Former director, Prince George's County Bar Association (chair, professional ethics committee, 1973-78). Past president, J. Dudley Diggs Chapter and Marlborough Chapter, American Inns of Court. Lecturer, University of Maryland School of Law, 1973-; faculty member, National Judicial College, Reno, Nevada, 1980-; American Academy of Judicial Education, Washington, DC. Mediator, JAMS Maryland Resolution Center, Greenbelt, 2011-. Former State Judge Advocate, Maryland American Legion. Member, Veterans of Foreign Wars. Robert C. Heeney Award, Criminal Law Section, Maryland State Bar Association, 2004. First recipient, Lifetime Achievement Award, Trial Lawyers of Metropolitan Washington, DC, 2008.
