EXECUTIVE NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE

ORIGIN & FUNCTIONS

[photo, James Senate Office Building, 11 Bladen St., Annapolis, Maryland] The Executive Nominations Committee formed in January 1845.

For all appointments made by the Governor which require Senate advice and consent, the Committee reviews and interviews gubernatorial appointees. The Committee then reports its recommendations on those nominations to the Senate (Const., Art. II, secs. 10-15; Code State Government Article, secs. 2-1103 through 2-1105).
