ORIGIN & FUNCTIONS

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS

Under the Department of Public Works are two divisions: Roads, and Special Services.

ROADS DIVISION
The Roads Division builds, maintains, and widens paved roads; surfaces unpaved gravel roads; installs signs and highway markings for safe passage on County roadways; and replaces bridges.

SPECIAL SERVICES DIVISION
The Special Services Division maintain the County's buildings. It also directs programs for animal control, insect control, noxious weed control, and solid waste and recycling trash disposal.
